Below, we've put together some answers to questions you may have about our Montreal Canadiens 50/50 raffles.

What are the prizes? 

The amount of the prize to be won (Winner's Prize) will consist of 50% of the gross proceeds received from all tickets sold at each 50/50 draw event.  

There is 1 early bird prize to be won in this draw:

Who can participate? 

Participation is reserved exclusively to people who are 18 years of age or older and are physically located in the province of Quebec when purchasing tickets. You do not have to be a Quebec resident to participate; tourists who are only visiting can also take part in our raffles. Please note that our transactional website uses geo-fencing technology to ensure you are in the province, so make sure to enable location sharing on your device or browser to allow sale. 

     

    How much do tickets cost?  

    Here are the default ticket packages for raffles organized by the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation:  

    • Ten dollars ($10.00) for three (3) tickets 
    • Twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for twenty-five (25) tickets 
    • Fifty dollars ($50.00) for one hundred (100) tickets 
    • One hundred dollars ($100.00) for three hundred (300) tickets 

    "Extra" draw tickets cost $5.00 each.

    Keep an eye out for special promotions throughout the season, as they may offer different ticket packages. Details of each promotion will be available on the online sales platform website, and will be promoted by volunteers at the Bell Centre.  

     

    I can’t buy tickets due to location issues. What can I do? 

    In order to be permitted to purchase tickets, you need to allow location services on your device. If you are located in the province of Quebec and are experiencing issues, you may have previously turned off location sharing on your browser or device. Please follow the steps below to change that setting and allow the site to detect your location.  

    On your computer: 

    1. Open Chrome. 
    1. In the top right-hand corner of the window, click on More then on Settings.
    1. Click on Privacy and Security then on Site settings.
    1. Click on Location then select "Allow" in the drop-down menu.

     

    On your iPhone or iPad (iOS): 

    1. Open the Settings application. 
    1. Search for Safari or Chrome, depending on the browser you use, and press it. 
    1. Scroll to the bottom of the screen, then tap Location.
    1. Choose the option you wish to use by default ("Ask" or "Allow"). 

     

    On your Android phone or tablet: 

    1. Open the Chrome app. 
    1. To the right of the address bar, tap More and then Settings.
    1. Click on Site settings then on Location.
    1. Turn on the Location.

     

    Troubleshooting steps for Microsoft Edge: 

    If you're experiencing problems with location services when using the Microsoft Edge browser on Windows, it's probably due to the permissions related to geolocation access. To solve this problem, you can adjust location permissions in Windows system settings and Microsoft Edge browser settings. 

    Troubleshooting steps : 

    1. Check Windows system settings :
    • Access Windows settings by clicking on the menu button and selecting the "Settings" icon. 
    • Access your privacy settings and click on "Location" in the left-hand sidebar. 
    • Enable location access by toggling the "Allow applications to access your location" switch. 
    • Review and manage application permissions, including Microsoft Edge and Maps. 

     

    1. If you're still having problems, check your Microsoft Edge browser settings:
    • Open the website in the Microsoft Edge browser on Windows. 
    • Access Edge settings by clicking on the three horizontal dots (or "More" menu) in the top right-hand corner of the navigation bar 
    • Scroll down to "Cookies and site permissions" and click on it. 
    • Under "Site permissions", select the website entry and click on "Reset permissions". 
    • Try to access the website again and make a purchase. 
    • Grant location authorization in Edge (if prompted) by clicking on the option allowing the website to access your location. 

     

    Can I win more than one prize?  

    When there is an Early Bird or secondary prize to win, absolutely! When you purchase your tickets before an early bird prize raffle, your numbers are valid for all remaining early bird prizes or secondary prizes as well as the grand prize jackpot until the main raffle closes. 

     

    How can I purchase my tickets?  

    You can purchase tickets for the raffle at en.5050.canadiens.com until the end of Montreal Canadiens home game. 

    When purchasing tickets online, you must use one of the following types of cards: Visa, Visa Debit, Mastercard, Mastercard Debit and American Express are accepted. Other methods of mobile payment, such as Apple Pay, Google Wallet and Shop Pay, are also available. 

     

    How will I receive my tickets?   

    After finalizing your online transaction, you will automatically receive an email confirmation with your digital tickets attached. Make sure to enter your email address correctly with no errors when purchasing to ensure you receive your tickets. 

     

    Can I play more than once in the same raffle? 

    Yes, you can make more than one transaction per raffle, as long as the raffle still open - so you can play from anywhere, as often as you like! 

     

    Where can I find the winning number and what happens if I win?   

    The winning numbers and their associated prizes will be posted on the « Winners » tab at en.5050.canadiens.com after each raffle. 

    A member of the Foundation will also communicate with winners by using the contact information provided at the point of purchase. If your ticket has the winning number, you can also contact us by email at fondation5050@canadiens.com with proof of your ticket. 

     

    How long do winners have to collect their prize? 

    Winners have fourteen (14) business days to claim their prize. The person with the winning number will be contacted by a Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation representative as soon as the raffle is completed. 

    Each prize winner must provide the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation with all information required by provincial gaming regulations. By claiming their prize, the winner gives the Foundation the right to publish their name and amount won. All prizes that remain unclaimed after fourteen (14) business days will revert to the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation.  

     

    What are the profits from the raffle used for? 

    Net profits from 50/50 raffles benefit Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation, whose mission is to encourage physical activity and the adoption of healthy lifestyle habits among disadvantaged young people aged 4 to 17.    

     

    What are my chances of winning?  

    Chances of winning depend on the total number of tickets sold at the time of the raffle.  

     

    How long does it take to receive my tickets?  

    Tickets generally are sent to your email address within 5 minutes of ordering. Various reasons beyond our control, including a high volume of sales, could lead to there being a delay in the reception of your tickets. Make sure to enter your email address correctly with no errors when purchasing to ensure you receive your tickets. and check your spam and junk mail folders. If you still haven’t received your tickets within an hour of the transaction, please email us at fondation5050@canadiens.com. 

     

    I think I misspelled my email address when I purchased my tickets. What do I do?  

    If that happens, please contact us at fondation5050@canadiens.com with your full contact information. Make sure to include your full name and contact information so that we can track your transaction. 

     

    Is the prize taxable and is the purchase of a raffle ticket tax deductible?  

    Raffle winnings are not taxable in Quebec. However, no official tax receipt will be issued for the purchase of raffle tickets, as required by the Canada Revenue Agency, since the ticket gives the purchaser a chance to win and is not a charitable donation. 

     

    Am I able to get a refund?  

    All ticket sales are final. There will be no refunds issued to anyone for any reason. All tickets purchased and entered into the raffle cannot be refunded, including if ticket purchaser made an error in selecting the package of tickets they wished to purchase.  

     

    Can I gift my tickets?  

    Tickets are non-transferrable. The prize will be awarded to the individual whose name appears as purchasing the ticket.
