Rules
Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation Rules of Participation and Operation for Raffles - Montreal Canadiens
(RACJ license # L-00384)
ELIGIBILITY
- Participation is reserved exclusively for people aged 18 and over who are physically located in the province of Quebec at the time of ticket purchase.
-
The following individuals are not eligible to participate in the draws: employees of the Foundation, volunteers assigned to the draw, employees of the company providing the drawing technology (Bump CBN), members of the Foundation's Board of Directors, any person with whom these employees and members live, and the immediate family of these employees and members.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
- Tickets are sold through an online platform (5050.canadiens.com) administered by employees of the Foundation as well as by volunteers during Montreal Canadiens games at the Bell Centre.
- Ticket buyers who purchase in person at Montreal Canadiens games will receive their printed ticket listing their numbers associated with the purchased tickets. When purchased through the online platform, ticket buyers receive a digital stub by email listing the numbers associated with the package purchased.
- The corresponding individual ticket numbers are collected simultaneously for the random number generator electronic winning ticket raffle.
- Clients will be required to provide their contact information to participate.
- It is essential for participants to keep the printed coupon from their in-person transaction, or the digital receipt received by email when purchasing through the online platform, as proof of purchase. This proof of purchase will be required from the participant whose number is selected during the draw in order to claim their prize.
RAFFLE AND COMMUNICATION WITH THE WINNER
- The winning ticket raffle date and time for each raffle will be posted on the online platform website (5050.canadiens.com) and will be printed on the participant’s ticket.
- The winning number and details on the drawn prize will be announced on the online platform website (5050.canadiens.com) following the draw.
- In the event of a discrepancy between the announced (displayed) winning number and the official winning number, the latter shall prevail.
- The holder of the ticket containing the winning raffle number must claim their prize by contacting the Foundation by telephone or email. They will need to forward their purchase confirmation email (if purchased online) or producing their printed ticket (if purchased in person), in addition to providing a government-issued photo identification. The holder of the winning ticket will have fourteen (14) business days from the time of the announcement to claim the prize. The Foundation will also use the contact information provided by the ticket purchaser to attempt to contact them.
- If the person holding the winning number selected does not claim their prize within the fourteen (14) business days period, the prize amount will be invested in a Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation program approved by the Regie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec.
- The winner will be required to complete a declaration and release form before taking possession of the prize.
- The 50/50 prize (winning prize) will consist in 50% of the gross revenue received from all tickets sold on each 50/50 raffle event. In the event of a discrepancy between the announced (displayed) amount and the official amount raised, the latter shall prevail.
- If a minimum jackpot amount is guaranteed for a raffle, the online platform website will display the amount at the beginning of sales.
- Select raffles will also feature one or multiple Early Bird or secondary prizes, which will be outlined on the online platform website. For raffles that include Early Bird or secondary prizes, all tickets purchased prior to the purchase deadline will be eligible to win those prizes. All eligibility conditions, the raffle and notification to the prize winner information, as well as other general conditions and publicity release details listed in this document, will apply.
- All winning raffle ticket numbers for Early Bird prizes will remain entered into the raffle for the cash prize for the 50/50 raffle that the ticket was purchased for.
- 50/50 cash prize winnings will be paid by direct deposit in Canadian dollars, following receipt of banking information of the winner, within 60 business days following the raffle. In some cases, 50/50 prize winnings may be paid by cheque.
- Once claimed, the retrieval of Early Bird and secondary prizes will be coordinated with the winner by a member of the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation team. The Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation will handle the shipment of the physical Early Bird prizes to the winners. However, the Foundation will not be responsible for covering any costs related to duty or import taxes or other associated fees that may be incurred upon receiving the prizes.
- All prizes, including Early Bird or secondary prizes, are not transferable and must be accepted as described with no substitutions, except at the Foundation’s sole discretion.
- Only the holder of the winning ticket may claim a prize.
- The Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation shall have no responsibility regarding any other person who claims any interest or right to receive all or any part of the prize associated with a winning ticket.
- Odds of winning depend on the total number of tickets sold.
- Tickets are subject to verification by raffle organizers. All fraudulent tickets will automatically be removed from the raffle and not give right to a prize. Unauthorized persons copying, selling or altering tickets are subject to prosecution. A raffle ticket will be void if there is proof that the ticket was stolen, not issued, ineligible, altered, counterfeit, defective, printed in duplicate, or printed/produced in error.
OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- All ticket sales are final. There will be no refunds issued to anyone for any reason. Once the raffle numbers on purchased tickets are entered into the raffle, those tickets cannot be refunded, including in cases where the purchaser made an error in selecting the ticket package they desire to purchase.
- No official receipt for income tax purposes will be issued for the purchase of raffle tickets as set out by Canada Revenue Agency.
- If the integrity of the raffle is compromised in any way, the Foundation will notify the Regie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec (RACJ) and consult the RACJ on how to best move forward. The Foundation must receive RACJ approval prior to cancelling the raffle and/or modifying the raffle rules.
- By entering into the Raffle, all ticket purchasers agree to: (a) be bound by these Raffle Rules; and (b) release the Service Provider (Canadian Bank Note), the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation including its Board of Directors and Officers, the Montreal Canadiens Hockey Club, the Bell Centre, l’Aréna des Canadiens, Groupe CH, and any presenting sponsors, event promoter, charitable organization benefiting from the raffle program and any event promoter and any presenting partner of the 50/50 Raffles, and each of their respective partners, subsidiaries and affiliates, together with the owners, employees, officers, directors, sponsors and agents of any of the foregoing (collectively, "Released Parties") from and against any and all claims, demands, injuries, losses, damages and liabilities whatsoever arising out of the Raffle.
- The Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation will administer the Raffle in good faith and in the best interests of the Foundation.
- All winners release the "Released Parties" from any responsibility for damages they may incur by accepting or using their prize.
- This raffle program is subjected to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations. The decisions rendered by the organizers are final and without appeal in all aspects of the said raffle.
PUBLICITY RELEASE
- By participating in the raffle, winners thereby grant the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation and its representatives the right to print, publish or broadcast their name, portrait, picture, voice, likeness, and biographical information for any purpose related to the Foundation and its activities without any form of compensation, including but not limited to, advertising and promotional purposes.
